A new Captain, but still the same great experience.

We are happy to announce the hand over of Stampede Cruises to Robbie and Dawn Francis from the 1st November 2018.

The decision to let go of Stampede comes against a background which primarily includes our long-term plan to go and sail the world and the extensive preparation that goes with this.

The creation and running of Stampede Cruises as a ‘retirement project’ over the past few years has been something of a roller coaster ride for Sherry and I. We have been immersed in an exciting new world which is growing rapidly and has been so rewarding with many happy guests getting to experience the incredible array of nature that we have on our doorstep in Algoa Bay.

Regrettably, the world does not stand still for any of us and we need to move on before we are overtaken by old man time!

Our success has been due to a combination of factors including our amazing Supercat catamaran (Stampede) and all that she has to offer as well as the incredible support that we have enjoyed from the entire PE tourism family ranging from NMBT, tour operators, event organisers, guest houses and local corporations through to the wonderful cooperation and support we have enjoyed from other marine tour operators with whom we are actually competing! This relationship is somewhat unique and ultimately so beneficial for us all as we actually live and endorse the “Friendly City” that we are and attract more visitors to experience what we have to offer.

With the takeover by Robbie and Dawn, we will be facilitating an almost seamless transition at the start of another busy summer season in the bay. Robbie comes from a background of rich experience in this field with his passion for Algoa Bay and its nature, diving and previous work with boat-based television film crews. Robbie is an ardent photographer and both he and Dawn have a really genuine way with people which will go so well with their onboard guests.

We want to take the opportunity to thank all our friends and guests who have believed in us and supported us. We are incredibly grateful to you all and know that you will continue to support Robbie and Dawn and Stampede Cruises in the years to come.
